Fear Not - A New Assignment

Scripture Reading - 1 Chronicles 28:20-21 KJV

(20) And David said to Solomon his son, Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD. (21) And, behold, the courses of the priests and the Levites, even they shall be with thee for all the service of the house of God: and there shall be with thee for all manner of workmanship every willing skilful man, for any manner of service: also the princes and all the people will be wholly at thy commandment.

Greetings fellow believer in the Awesome Name of Jesus may God’s Grace smile upon you this day while he fills you with all Peace. Today we will continue in our “Fear Not” series. In a previous lesson we highlighted the fact that worry comes from fear. If we can remove the fear from the situation, event, circumstance, sickness, government, leadership, person, etc. . . we will also remove the worry associated with that fear. Thank God through Jesus Christ we can remove the fear. According 1 John 4:18, “There is no fear in love but perfect (mature, sincere, pure, untainted) love casts out fear.” In another previous lesson we mentioned that we don’t need to fear protection primarily for two reasons: one - God is always with us and two - The Lord’s ministering spirits known as the angels of God are encamped round about us continuously. The key is knowing divine help is always available and acknowledging God in all our ways so He can direct our paths. In a previous lesson we looked at not fearing a lack of provision because you are a child of God. Yes, your Heavenly Father greatly delights in you because He loves you so much. His desire is to not only feed you naturally but His Will is that you are well fed both spiritually and physically having more than what you need for that specific meal. In another previous lesson we discussed not fearing the curse(s) of the Law because The Blessing(s) of God are promised to the children of God. Yes, in Christ Jesus we are redeemed from the curses of the Law. The Blessing is twofold: 1) - We inherited all The Blessings of the Law as children of God while at the same time 2) - We were (and are) promised complete deliverance from all the curses of the Law, so there is no need to fear. We also shared about not fearing relocation because God is with us and we can communicate with God anything and everything that concerns us. In these times of trouble and conflict we covered not fearing war. This means even the threat of war should not make us afraid because we have God with us individually before, during and after war. We then looked at not fearing your enemies which could be someone in your own family or someone at work on your job or maybe a neighbor who really doesn’t like you, etc . . . The key is knowing how to treat them while keeping a positive attitude so that they can’t steal your joy. In today’s lesson we will highlight not fearing “A New Assignment”. When we (ihlcc) are referring to “a new assignment” we are really stating don’t fear “any assignment”. In our reference scripture today it speaks of a great task required of Solomon. King David, his father, is admonishing Solomon to not be worried and fearful about building The House of the Lord. However, if we would be honest with ourselves, we would be worried and fearful too when it comes to leading a huge project for The Lord. Think about it, this is no ordinary house that he is building for man but rather this is The Lord’s House or some would say “God’s Temple”. King David wanted to build God’s House but due to much Blood shed by King David so the Lord told David that Solomon would build the House of the Lord. Since David was involved with wars and strategic killings he had accumulated many enemies over the years. God knowing how many nations and people hated King David chose to build his house with clean hands. Thus, as the king apparent to replace King David was assigned the task. It makes perfect sense due to the fact that Solomon was unknown to many people and nations, remember King David had many sons but Solomon was God’s choice because his heart was right (soft, tender, humble) with God. Solomon was never known as a great architect or a preferred builder, no positive prerequisites are mentioned in the Holy Bible as requirements for Solomon only having a humble heart before God, Almighty. For by God’s grace are saved (empowered to create, design, communicate and build) through faith it is not of yourself but rather a gift from God. We would think in the natural this task/calling/career would be granted to the most famous builder and architect in the land or even someone from another nation because this is God’s House. However, that is not what God wanted for we must always remember God calls (chooses, selects, incorporates, communes with) the lowly. Yes, those with a humble heart do please God and that is why The Lord has better fellowship with them. The lowly in heart are willing to spend time listening to God to performing His Will and purpose over their own will and desires. This is why King David specifically told Solomon, “Be strong and of good courage, and do it: “fear not, nor be dismayed”: for the LORD God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the LORD.” King David knew through his own personal experience with God that the Lord is with him and our faithful God will be with Solomon too, so he could complete the task with excellence. God being with us is the reoccurring theme throughout this whole “Fear Not” series. A key with God is knowing that He gives us one step at a time rather then the whole big picture at once. Yes, God during times of fellowship will let you know His general direction but the details and particulars will be revealed while you are doing the work. We as children of God must always remember God wants to build His House a certain way and with specific materials, so we shouldn’t assume God’s Way is our way but rather adopt His Way first and use that as the design blueprint (foundation) to build upon. Therefore, we must listen to Him to know both His (The Lord’s) heart spiritually and learn what physical materials He delights in down here on earth. Remember we are seeking for God’s Will to be done down here on earth as it is in Heaven. Church Pastors build God’s House according to His Plan for every church is slightly different. Please follow God’s Heart to do His Perfect Will and if you don’t know it (God’s Perfect Will) spend the extra time necessary with God until you do know it. Young parishioner pray about the work set before you and know that God wants things done a certain way. This means to us we must follow His (God’s) heart until you have His peace overflowing our heart and mind. Surely, you can do all things through Christ Jesus which strengths you. Any and all assignments are doable with God’s help and even notice in verse 21 of our reference scripture that God will send you help for the things you can’t do on your own. Yes, our Father in Heaven is gracious, He will not give you a burden too heavy for you to bear. The key is knowing who you need for help while doing what you can do yourself until your help from someone else arrives. So be encouraged dear child of God all things are possible in Christ and please remember it’s God’s House upon the earth, not mans. If you are anxious about your job (career/assignment/upcoming event/new member to your family, etc. . .) that just means you need to spend additional time with Gods Word in His Presence until the Peace of God overflows your heart and mind. The Lord will refresh you with the Water of His Spirit during times of dryness (worry/anxiety/concern) whenever you need Him because He truly, truly loves you so very, very much. “Amen!”
